Maybe you didn't think of it as the same name, but at some point maybe you use some co-regulating actions and achieved an outcome of calming your dog? Please share your experience.

One thing I use often is recognizing what is making my dog uncomfortable. It may be an approaching person/dog that she sees on our walk. She'll tens up an do a hard stare in their direction. I'll follow her gaze and acknowledge them, I'll reassure her that: yes, they are coming towards us as they are on a walk as well. There is nothing to worry about and how about we sit her and watch (or let's cross). Whatever works in that moment will be followed with a treat. Treats don't always work as you have taught us, so we'll chat like that for a moment until she relaxes so we can move away.

Hi Isabela,
Language is so powerful, and your post demonstrates how it can help in a situation.
